THE CLUB

RUSPER AIKIDO CLUB

Rusper Aikido Club is a small-medium sized club with a very friendly atmosphere with an even mix of men and women ranging from 18 to 60+ years old.

We meet at Rusper Village Hall in Rusper (nr Horsham) West Sussex every Monday (excluding some public holidays) from 8pm to 10pm. The cost per session is £5 per person. Your first session is free.

Rusper Aikido Club is a member of Aikido for Daily Life and affiliated to the British Aikido Board, the governing body for Aikido in the UK. All our instructors hold coaching certificates, first aid certification, and are insured through the British Aikido Board.

Our chief instructor is Daniel Easton. He has been in studying Aikido for nearly 10 years and has trained in many dojos and countries throughout the world.

Working closely with other clubs and teachers outside of Rusper Aikido Club has proved to be a hugely positive experience and has provided a great stimulus for our own development, as well as breaking down some of the barriers with other groups that all too often exist.

Our structure is deliberately flat, with no one focal point to say what is right and wrong. We run democratically with every member having a vote and a say in how we are run. Literally any member can raise an issue to be brought to the attention of the whole group. All members are encouraged to speak their mind. The result has been constructive debate rather than the usual politics and power games that typify the martial arts world. Accordingly we have been able to concentrate our energies on what really matters - practicing aikido and leading positive lives.

Rusper Aikido Club is not run for profit and when we make a profit, the members determine how this is used to benefit the group.
